working in 2009.  I downloaded a "window" that was created as an other family.  I want to change it to a window so it shows up in my schedules and I can tag it in plans and sections.  Any advice?

 Thank you,

AAron

Edit the family, go to Settings>Family category and parameters and change the categoty to Windows...

You can't change it into a window.  You will have to remodel it or find another one.

One option is to create a different schedule for just those 'doors' and call it a window schedule.  Place it beneath (or in, by splitting it) your schedule for the proper windows.

You CAN create a Door/Window schedule.  It's tedious with the naming of the parameters the schedule shares with the doors and windows both, but then you can also create a Hardware schedule for the doors alone as well.

Thread I posted how to do this is located here:

http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=15209

And by the way, the Door/Window Schedule has to be a multi-category schedule.

Hope this helps!
