I have inserted several decals in a project and I cannot get them to render.  I have included the location path in the options>rendering dialog as well as located the path and file in the decal types dialog.

I am stumped, please help

Jim

Some possible reasons are:

They are not on the correct face, or on the wrong side of the face.  You sometimes get this problem when applying decals to very thin faces, such as a picture face.  If its a thin face hide this in the view and check that the decal is not behind, hosted on the wall or surface behind.

The face that you're trying to apply the decal to is on a split face.

The visibility settings of the decal are too bright or dull for the render settings.

tim123,

Thanks for the info. Here is my status now.

I tried to hide the frame - no good still not visible

I tried to rotate the decal (just in case)  - no good still not visible

Here are the settings -

intensity 10

reflectivity 0%

transparency 0%

luminance - none

Should I add a bump pattern?  I don't see how this could help, but I will try anything.

Thanks again for your help.

If its a picture frame, try and place the decal on the wall next to it to check that the decal is working.  That will rule out some of the possibilities.  If it is visible then it is probably that the decal is on the wrong side of the surface.

Thanks again for your help.  As it turns out, I guess it was on the wrong side of the surface.  I removed the surface and voila there it is.
