RAC 2009

i see the length of the 20K4 steel  joist in its

properties- but it's grayed out and i couldn't

find how to change it.. but i was thinking- is

it possible that since these joists are pre-made

that we are not supposed to change their length

but rather change something else to accommodate

them?

You can change the length by selecting it and changing the temporary dimension, or drag the points.

thanks tim..

i just kept working with dragging the ends like you said

and it finally worked..

do you know if we are really supposed to change the length

of these steel joists? isn't their length specified at the

factory? or do we order custom lenghts that vary around

a standard length/type?

and the default position is to embed the seat half way into a block

wall at the top with the top of the joist flush with the top of the wall..

is that the standard way to do it? or would they put the seat up against

the wall at the top with a bracket bolted to the wall up under the seat?

actually i can only drag the end real close to the wall-

but if it touches the wall it will snap to the center of the wall..

is there a way to turn off that snapping?

i looked at every part of element properties for something

like that..
