Do any Revit users have any suggestions about archiving files for permanent storage?
Is there any way to condense files after purge?

Revit files are much like jpg files and are already pretty much as condensed as they are going to get. You could try zipping the files but it won't make much difference. Our projects, once completed are typically archived to DVD's and set away for storage.

Is there some way to make archive with all files which we use, like material lib's and map files etc for each project or when we move project to other PC.

Not really, i mean you could include them all in a zip file with directory structures intact...
But i'd just suggest keeping all the maps, material libs etc in a central location where nothing gets deleted from and back that up systematically...

I am doing that but I hope that we will get 'archive' or 'packing' project in the future, something like Microstation have.

Thanks for the responses.
I agree there needs to be an easier way to pack projects away.
Mr. Spot:
When you archive to DVD, do you just copy everything over?
Or do you have to actually Save To Central using the DVD writer?
I am having trouble getting either one to work properly.

We just copy everything over. The information is being archived so if the file no longer remembers itself as being the central file then that't not really an issue. If the file needs to be used at a later date it can easily be resaved from the dvd as a central file (although if placed back in the same directory path as it was originally it should become the central file again.
HTH.
