Hi guys,  the one thing that i seem to always have trouble with is windows.

I am using all downloaded windows as i cannot yet make my own families very well (booked on a course next month)

this particular issue is bugging me at the moment and thought id ask for help.

So im using this window and the front of the frame goes into a wall flush with the front face instead of over the cavity.

ive messed around with the window family (moved it all back into the wall and amended some profiles to suit) and that seems to have solved the problem in the 3D view but as you can see on the attachment the plan view is rubbish. any ideas how to fix this and bring the frame in so that it can sit over the cavity without having to have a really deep frame that is in the wrong location.  thanks.

If I understand your problem correctly, you need the frame to cover the cavity and not extend to the outside face of the wall.  There is a constraint that is defining this that you need to find and unlock.  You could also try and draw a ref plane where you want the frame to end, with a depth parameter.  Align and lock the frame to this plane.
