THIS IS MY PROBLEM. I'M TRYING TO CREATE MY OWN CURTAIN WALL SYSTEM. BUT THE PROBLEM IS I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SEE A DETAIL WHEN I CUT IT IN SECTION. I HAVE ATTACHED A FAMILY I FOUND. IF YOU CUT IT IN SECTION YOU SEE THE DETAIL DRAFTING VIEW BUT IF YOU CUT IT WITH A SECTION BOX IN 3D YOU CAN NOT SEE THE DETAILS. I'M VERY LOST. CAN I INSERT A DETAIL AS A PROFILE?

The component you see is a 2D detail component.  It will not show up in a 3D view ... period!  No detail component will.

If you edit this family, you will see the embedded details listed under detail items.  You can pull these out and use them seperately in your projects.  But you will find that they are junk!  They are just imported cad drawings.

You will need to model them to see them in 3d.

Revit can't model the interior detail of the profile exactly. It sounds weird but some of the details are too small. Revit can only handle object down to about 1/256".
