Revit Structure 2009

I'm placing formed concrete stoops at exterior man door locations.  They are 3- sided walls with slab-on-deck top to prevent heaving.  When I get to placing the slab on deck element, there is no slab-direction symbol that I can use to easily make the corrugations run the correct way.  Is this something that is determined by my order of perimeter lines drawn?

I usually have good luck when I place a direction symbol and rotate the deck with that.  I tried to place a slab direction symbol on the stoop slab, but it isn't visible.  Is it too small of an area?

 Thanks in advance.

Are you drawing multiple stoop slabs within one element?  This will cause the span arrow to appear in the middle of the two seperate slabs.  Example; you have two identical stoops at grids 1 & 3.  The span arrow will appear in the middle of these two stoops - probably at grid 2.

Otherwise, the category is under 'Annotation' - 'Span Direction Symbol'.  Make sense?

I created each stoop assembly as separate functions.  ( I would draw the deck, adjust the cantilever, finish the sketch)

However, I didn't understand what you meant by the last line; which category?  Help Guide?

What determines the direction of deck ribs, initially?  Before the annotation symbol appears, or is placed.

Oh!!!

I got it.  In Visual Graphics, the annotation symbol category was unchecked for span direction symbols.  I see them now.

Thank you.
