I trying to put together a preliminary costing schedule by taking our wall types and assigning them a cost per linear foot. In the wall properties you can assign a cost to the wall. In the schedule I was creating a wall schedule that had all the walls of the project listed. I am trying to add a calculated value to the fields with the formula reading "Cost*Length".  You would think that would be an easy formula. But they reject it becuase it has "inconsistant units" and will not let me create the field.   I can not change the units on either of them.  So how do I work around this stupid little problem.

As Revit suggests, the units are inconsistent.  Length * number = length, so the units need to be set to length, not number for this to work.

It seams rather limiting for the programmers to limit formulas to the same "units". So is there a way to make the totals unitless so I do not have to read cost per foot in feet and inches.  My grand totals came out to be 60737'-2 13/32"

Under formatting go to Field Format and override the project settings.
