the element prop's dialogue box doesn't have any options for top or base level assignments upon architectural column placement.

is there a way to define the column placement upon placement?  right now i have to place the column and then enter the element prop's dialogue box to define the level assignments

When you place your column you have the option of setting in a top level in the options or an unconnected height.  In the element properties you can set in top and bottom offsets.

I've attached image showing the elements and type properties dialogue box. I'm pretty sure this is where you're referencing.

Might there be something missing in the family creation to make the level assignment drop down box visible??

See attached image.  The offsets are in the element properties, but the initial extents are in the toolbar.
