I have a door with full height sidelights on either side. This door was already built but i am wanting to modify it by adding our trim to it. The width parameter is set up to the actual door: 3'-0", while the sidelights have a separate width parameter of their own: 1'6". I am wanting the "Width" parameter to be overall: 6'0". I am wanting the formula to be something like this: Width + Sidelights*2. I have typed that exact formula in and get a warning saying "There is a circular chain of references among the formulas". I am not understanding what that means exactly. Please let me know how i should type the formula to get what i am wanting. Thanks Smile

What are you calling the formula parameter?  The formula may be referring to itself.

The circular chain just means that your Width parameter is controling some other parameter that is in turn controling the width parameter. Easy fix:

Leave the Width parameter set to your door width and change the width of your opening for the wall to be the Rough Width parameter. Then set the formula for the Rough Width to "Width + Sidelights * 2"

You will probably have to unlock the edges of your wall opening but this should work.

When you schedule this its going to show the width of the door not the width of the door and windows combined. If you want the windows to be added to the width you will need to make another parameter and set the door width to that.
