The name of the thread says it all. I have solar panels on the roof of my building and in rendered section view they are casting shadows into the interior of the building. How can I turn this off?

Hide the panels that are casting the shadows.

Hmm.... is that the only option? I would have like to render some sectional perspectives so turning off a row of panels would look a little strange. Anybody got any other ideas?

I'm not sure what the problem is.  You can turn off only the panels that are casting the shadow and leave the others to render.  Perhaps an image will help explain your dilema.

This problem probably occurs because of how you built your solar panel families.  If any part of a family is cut by the view plane then the family is visible.  THAT INCLUDES INVISIBLE LINES!  Some part of this offending family is cut by your view.  As suggested, I would hide in view the offending family.
