Hello I am having difficulty drawing a railing that runs at an incline to the horizontal. Can anybody help ? So far I have tried: Setting the work plane to the required angle and then drawing the railing but Revit wont allow me to draw a railing in any view when I have the work plane set at an angle. Drawing the railing on a host ramp then moving it - but it just pops back to the horizontal plane. And everything else I can think of. I am running Revit 7 and I am a beginner. Thank you witsend

As mentioned by Xane use the pick host option on a floor, ramp or stair is the best bet. Make sure the sketch doesn't extend beyond the extents of the element though or it will revert back to horizontal. It can extend beyond but you must break the line at the end of the element and begin a new line. HTH.

Thank you for your help. The problem is however that I am trying to draw the railings along the top of a wall not a staircase or ramp. Is this posible ? Any further ideas much appreciated

No you cannot set wall as the host. You could embed a small floor or ramp into the wall and use that as the host though. HTH.
