If you go to a 3D view.

Right Click.

View Properties.

Under 'Extents' there is a tick box called 'section box' click that.

Then press ok, and on your 3D view will be a cube around your drawing. click on it to select it then drag 1 of the arrows back through your model, it should then cut it. Is this what you wanted?

If you do as dylan88 suggests and then duplicate the view and change its view properties you should be able to place both views on a sheet with one on top of the other.  They should snap together so that you create different effects in one drawing.

hi dylan88 & tim123....

thanks a lot for the tip.

section box works for the portion i want to show half cut.

but both views in the same sheet seem to be difficult...as we can not hide the edges of the cut  face in the duplicated view.

attached is the image of what i have in mind to do with the my building project.

please see if you can help..
