RAC 2008 -- I am working on a remodel of a patio into a screened-in porch.  We are adding columns and using curtain walls to represent the screen panels.  On the new end of the porch, we are adding a fireplace which will sit between two columns (6'0" wide fp).  There in not going to be an offset on the outside of the porch; rather, the fireplace is going to extend into the porch.

Since, there is not a wall between these columns, how should I go about achieving this situation?  Should I make a new family with the Generic-floor based template or create an in-place family or hope to find what I'm looking for on the web?

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Jim

Any of these should work - it should be quite easy to model.  I attach one that I made which you can use if suitable or adjust if required.  There should be others on Revitcity.  If you only have one you can create an in-place family.
