Another query, although I think I know the answer.

Trying to print a 2008 file of 3 townhouses. It's approx 17 MB in size (before printing). The page I have is 3 plan views (in shading with edges mode), and one 3D (in Hidden Line mode with lots of colour). We have a Canon W6400 ProGraf printer, my PC is approx 2.8 gHz with 4gig RAm and 512MB video card.

What could/would be a reasonable amount of time to spool and print this page? I know thi is similar to 'how long is a piece of string?' but if anyone has some indicators based on experience etc it would be helpful in me ascertaining whether to perservere with Revit, or switch back to ACAD until we get a system that can handle Revit work.

There seems to be another issue here - your computer is more powerful than the one I use and your file size is smaller.  We don't have these issues and printing with shadows is reasonbly fast.  How do you spool - is this to a network?

Yup, that's the answer.

I inadvertently sent the print job to another printer and it worked fine. I'm now thinking network or cable problem. Will be chatting to my IT guy about it.
