Is there a way yet to controll the visibility of system walls. eg Stud frame wall with weatherboard cladding exterior and plasterboard interior - but what i need to do is only show stud frame in plan and the other components in section and elevation. This would be similar to what we are able to do when creating normal families. (Im using RA2009)

I did see this requested in the wish list from 2006 and wondered if this has been added or is there a workaround.

I'm not sure why you would want to only show the studs in the plan, but you could try:

Hide the wall in plan and use the drafting repeating detail to draw the studs,

Draw it as different walls joined together and hide the relevant wall in the view

Use the cut profile command to make the plasterboard extremely small.

well its a shame they havent added this yet - but maybe one day.

Tim i might have confused my need. In a typical construction i draw there might be weatherboard cladding , timber frame and plasterboard at a typical wall section - but when i come to dimension the floor plan i only wont to show the timber framing and dimension that. I know i can dimension to any layer of the wall its just an aesthetic thing. I think i will play with it a bit more when i get a bit of down time.

Thanks for the replies guys
