Hey everyone,

I'm attempting to import multiple, linked autocad elevations to my Revit model and it seems that after the placement of the first link, subsequent links default to the first link's plane.  So, if I place the North Elevation, the East or West linked elevation will place sideways.  If I uncheck the link instead of import button it will place correctly but obviously any changes we make to the elevation will not be updated in Revit.

 Any ideas?

I think I see the issue here.  Are you linking multiple files at the same time or linking them individually?

If I understand the OP correctly, you are linking multiple files in while the east (for instance) elevation view is open.  This will place all elevations on the East Elevation view plane.  This means the East and West elevations that you link will show up correctly while the North and South elevations will be perpindicular to the cirrect view plane.  You need to try to link the East elevation file while in the Est elevation view, the South Elevation file while in the South Elevation view.

Let me know if this helps.

Hey thank you very much.  Sorry I didn't respond, got dragged out to lunch.

To be more specific, the problem is that I'm referencing the same file for each elevation.  All elevations for the first floor are in one file, the second floor is a different file and so on.

What do you think?

Thanks

Robert

In the 'Import/Link' dialogue box there is a check-box option to import or link to 'Current view only'.  Try checking this box.

There is also an 'Orient to View' check-box in the 'Positioning' options area.  Check that as well.

Just curious if you got this working after our chat session the other day.  Would like to know if you ended up doing what we had discussed or found a more efficient way.

Thanks,
