Parametric String Lights

Parametric String Lights using adaptive components. Adjusting the U_VAL and V_VAL changes the placement of the inner spline point. Additional parameters include: light bulb count, ends offset, and fixture materials.

Placement seems to work best using vertical planes. If the fixture ends up facing the wrong direction - try setting the workplane to a vertical placement plane and rotating.

Note: Original Light Bulb family modified from Ryan Davis's upload. No earlier version available currently, possibly in the future. Sorry! :(

Not bad.  they look awesome.  is there anyway to make it more adaptable to the direction at which they hang.  I have mokeyed with it as much as I can to fudge it to at least have them hanging downwards with gravity, but they were not very nice, even when i chose to work from a vertical plane.  1 reccomendation if you can is to be able to adjust the intensity of the bulbs themselves.  besides that, excellent work, and thank you.

It does what it does, looks great in renderings. my only complaint is you cant use it in a project because you cant convert it to a lighting family because of the repeater.

For Halloween, I wanted to make a string of lanterns to hang on the top of the retaining wall in front of my house that I could program with my phone. I built this file to use 6 foot cedar fence pickets and retro bowl to be routed on my CNC router; but, along the process, I changed the file to also output independent lanterns that can be routed, laser cut, or 3d printed using tea lights or pond lights.

It is a very detailed and in-depth description of how to adjust string lights based on different parameters. This seems like a complicated engineering job! Knowing how to organize and manage time not only helps increase work efficiency but also gives us free time so we can rest and entertain. Time calculator is a great assistant to help calculate and optimize time.
