This is a generic model of half of a Modillion from the Corinthian order. Two mirror versions of this model adorn the modillion coursing in the bed-moulding of the Corinthian entablature. This bracket supports the eaves (sometimes coffered) and variants of this decoration also support archways (usually topped by an impost block) and consoles. |
