Revit 2018 Curved Wall Opening_parametric
How to use:
1. Create a curved/radial/radius wall in plan view.
2. Load the family while still in plan view.
3. Select "Place on Work Plane".
4. Place the family on the midpoint of the exterior curved wall.
5. Open a 3D view and select the opening.
6. Select "Edit Type" in the "Properties Palette" in order to enter the radius of your wall and the appropriate wall depth/thickness in the family.
7. Select "Cut Tool", select the opening, and then select the wall.
**Note: You will have to adjust the radius of the wall or the width of the opening should the family fail to flex. I created a few Family Types to help. All other Parameters flex without issue. Be sure that you enter a value for the wall depth that will cut through your entire wall. |

Water meter as used by utility network operators, Drainlayers and Plumbers in NZ when connecting potable cold water reticulation to residential and small commerical and industrial buildings for new build work, refurbishment and as the local regulations change to require water meters in more local government jurisdictions.
Manufactured by Arthur D Riley of NZ, this WTD-DRA70 water meter has the "extra tall manifold" (in ground case)
Revit face based model.
Can easily be hosted on Building Pad with a small area in the topography
CBI (NZ) Liquid 71-21 for cold potable water reticulation systems.
Materials include copper for supply in/out, water meter lid (green plastic) and water meter case (generic ABS plastic).
MEP connections for supply In/OUT (25 mm).

Projects "MIAMI" horizontally on the side of a building
Note:
-Placing this 35' from your building will project an image 25' tall
-Your rendering needs to be at night with few artificial lights for this to work.
- You can change the color by selecting edit type. |

I have made a spirograph detail item in revit for fun. You can see some of the designs which can be made inlcuding a standard oval. There are many parameters to adjust to alter the shape. Some notes on how they work are:
-i have placed 180 of the nested spirograph dot family and adjusted the rotation parameter of each so that there is 1 ever 2 degrees of rotation meaning the spirograph covers a total of 360 degrees.
-if the larger circle radius can be divded equally by the smaller circle radius then the pattern will complete in one 360deg rotation
-if the larger larger circle radius is not equally divisible by smaller circle radius (ex. LR = 100, SR = 60 then you wil have to find lest common multiple of LR to figure out how many rotations around the large circle are required (3 x 100 = 5 x 60 = 300) and place multiple of the item and rotate into alignment using the radial arm parameter turned on.
- if the small radius is exactly half the large radius you will be making an oval, the number of complete rotations the small circle makes indicates how many vertices there are if thats what you want to call them.
- if the arm length is greater than small radius then you will get the loops at the vertices, if the length is smaller than you will get rounded vertices |

About the Revit Family
This is a parametric ‘CNC’ table. The following are adjustable:
- Top: rectangle or oval
- Top: width and height (make these equal for a round or square top)
- Top cross: sets the size of the cross in the top
- Leg height and width
- Leg cross brace: sets the depth of the brace at the top of the leg
- Material thickness: this adjusts the size of the mortars and tension joint to accommodate different material thickness
How to use this on the CIT laser cutter
- Import the family and place in Revit view
- Adjust the sizes of the legs and top as desired – noting you’ll need both a Type A and Type B leg
- Adjust the material thickness to accommodate your chosen material
- Set the scale of the view to size of the final print, ie 1:50
- Export the view to DXF or Illustrator for adjusting line weights and printing

All cans that I have created were in pairs - parametric - 2 can types per family.
Have since discovered that the REVIT CITY web site has limitations - as with these - can not have two image files in one parametric family - I will reformat all that I have and split all of them into individual cans - so eventually all will work.
Have tried contacting REVIT CITY - so I can remove all the can types here - see what happens.
Sorry they have not worked to date - IT WILL BE FIXED.
REVIT CITY - PLEASE REMOVE THIS ITEM |

This window has the capability to have 0 to 10 mullions in the horizontal and vertical directions. Each mullion can be placed at random distances from the bottom or left side. VD# or HD# is to specify the Vertical or Horizontal distance of the numbered mullion. To Change the mullion count change the number under the constraint section of Edit Type.
The family is a little slow when making changes but seems to work fine once loaded.
Hope this helps,

Out of the box Revit Wide Flange family with spray on fireproofing added! After a long time of waiting to get to this, I finally did and decided to share because it seems unavailable anywhere else online. It appears to be a highly requested family throughout a lot of forums.
Parameters include, SOFP thickness, Visibility ON/OFF, & SOFP Realistic material. Family can be flexed and does not slow more complex framed structures significantly.
Visible in plan, 3D etc. Sections nicely as well. Great for wall firestopping & MEP coordination.
SOFP will adjust to any size beam selected and will also adjust to medium/fine detail level.
In order for this family to work properly, it’s imperative, the type catalog is located within the same folder as the family. I would suggest keeping them in the default directory together:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2018\Libraries\US Imperial\Structural Framing\Steel
SOFP material JPG should be loaded into default materials directory as well:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\3\Mats
Hope this is helpful and you enjoy for free! Family was created in RVT2018 but can be upgraded.
