Everytime I move my level tags on the elevation out the side of the building, so it reads clearly, they seem to move back to their original position when I move on to another drawing. And therefore they show up on my sheet within the edge of the building and not out to the side. Any ideas?

Do you have a crop region on? Level tags will respond better to a crop region. Better yet would be a scope box as you can assign grids and levels to be associated with a scope box.

i'm having a similar problem...i move the level lines in one elevation (say the east) and then move them in the west elevation and when i switch back to the east again- they are all moved...how do i keep the level lines to stay where i want them in each elevation?  Can i do this?  Are level line view specific?

Thoughts?

Thanks

All datums have 2D & 3D extents.  If the level line crosses a crop region it automatically switches to 2D extents.  If it doesn't then you can manually switch it to 2D using the blue 2D/3D toggle that will show up near the level end.  Obviously 3D is going to effect all views that are using 3D extents (and it will also effect 2D as well in terms of causing them not to display if they no longer cross the extents of the view).

From memory I believe I wrote a FAQ on my blog about it sometime ago...

Typhoon-

The main reason that aprked my question is because i was aligning the elevation marks (vertically) along the side of my elevation view.  I noticed that i would get them all just where i wanted them in one elevation view...then as i proceeded to modify other views i noticed that they were effecting each other.  The end result was that i could NOT get all of the elevation tags to vertically align in each elevation...1-2 of them kept showing up backwards or out of place in relationship to the drawing AFTER i had placed it where i wanted it.  that's basically why i was moving them.

Why do you ask?  Is there a smarted way i should be utilizing the tools of Revit?

Thanks for the feedback.  i tried toggling the 2D/3D capability of the tags- verdict is still out on whether or not this "fixes" my "problem".
