I have linked a file of seismic walls into our architecture file.  To generate the layout of the exterior seismic walls, they linked our arch. file into theirs as an overlay.  Now, When I link their file into ours, I am seeing our (now outdated) interior walls, which I obviously don't want to see.

When I open their file, and make sure the visibility/graphics shows everything, I only see their seismic walls as I should.

But when I open our file, I manage the visibility/graphics of the revit links to customize the display settings of the model catagories.  The only way to turn off the outdated interior layout is to turn off the walls catagory, which also turns off the seismic walls.

Am I linking the file incorrectly, or is there a way to further control the display settings of different wall types.  Thank you for your help.

In your file and the offending view, select VG, REVIT links, then change the setting to custom and then in the linked file, turn off the walls.

Thanks WWHub.  But I want the seismic walls to remain.  Can I turn off interior partition walls but keep the seismic walls?  As far as I see, I can not control the display settings for different wall types.  Thanks again.

never mind.  I figured it out.  I had to specify the worksets as I import it, rather than import them all.

In order for their file to have your file linked in, it must have been saved under a different name.  Try either un-linking that in their file or see if it shows up under VG as a linked file.
