I work for a AE firm in DC and we are using revit for the first time. I have been able to pick it up farely quickly, but I cannot do everything. We needed a titleblock created for our presentation boards. We had an IT person from out main office come down for the day to do this. We already have the titleblock in autocad that we have been using. How hard would it be to bring this into revit so that the text is editable. How long should this take? the IT person took all day and still wasn't done. I would have handled this myself, but I have other projects also and have been on vacation since.

 Thanks

Assuming that it is drawn well in CAd it should take about 5 mins to inport, an hour to make it plot right (in my case we use a thicker irregular dahsed line around the edges and this took some doing), and another hour at most to link and set up all of your project paramenters (i.e. drawn by, sheet title, number, etc.).

If you want to pay somebody 8 hours or more to do it I would be more than happy Smile.

Unless you are doing multiple different types, sizes, etc it shouldnt take long at all. Infact you could open up the exsisting title block family, erase the lines, inport your cad, and move the exsisting parameters around in about 10-30 mins. It might not print out the best but at least its a start.
