hi guys, i have a couple of questions about detail components. i have searched the theards but can't find what i was after so am posting to see if anyone can help.

i am using revit arch 2008. the original revit library is good, but i have been finding that it doesn't have the details im after. i can't find 'Z' purlins and PFC chanels. am i looking in the wrong area or do i have to draw these manually?

also is there somewhere you can get a more detailed library from that is specifically metric and standardised?

any help will be appreciated.

I don't know where to find a more detailed library but I know what you mean about the purlins.  I got fed up of looking so I decided to create a new beam family and then use an extrusion to form the purlin profile.  you only have to do the family once, then keep it in your own library for later projects.  Creating a family using the cad details from the manufacturer would probs be the best, but I didn't do it that accurately.

thanks for that, i don't exactly mastered the whole families thing yet, but am getting there. it would be good if there was an add on type library for all the standard bluescope steel products. i know that you could get these with structural detailing software..mind you that stuff is kind of old but very useful.

anyone with more info please post up.

cheers
