Is there a way to set an internal text to not plot without hiding it...like in AutoCAD?  Not all txt...just specific text if we set it up in the properties?  PLMK.  Thanks,

Lorne

There's probably some sort of Object Style setting that I'm not finding or some other "real" way to do it that someone will point out as soon as I post this work-around, but maybe this will serve it's purpose and/or prompt someone to correct me. Word of warning though: it may be more complicated than it's worth...

Set up two text styles...I'll call them "TEMP NOTES" and "TEMP NOTES - PRINT" for now. Give TEMP NOTES your normal properties but you may want to make them some non-typical color so they are immediately distinguishable from notes you want to print. Now make TEMP NOTES - PRINT a text with white color, transparent background, 1/256" high, etc. Use TEMP NOTES to your hearts content. When ready to print, right click a temp note and Select All Instances. Drop-down-menu switch it to TEMP NOTES - PRINT and then print your documents. Undo the switch or track one of those little guys down and Select All Instances and flip them back. Maybe have a place holder bit of text that you know where it is and can sweep-and-filter-pick it when needed.

Like I said, ugly work-around to which I am SURE there are better alternatives. Good Luck.

That is one option but I think that isn't quite what we're looking for.  We want to have a text layer that one person can go in and type and point things out with leaders, ask questions, etc.  Then when another user comes in they see the Bright Red text and corrects the issues pointed out.  This helps us communicate when we're working with a Local and Central file and we can see issues that need to be taken care of.  Make sense?

Is there anythiing like this in Revit.  I'm trying to make our template file as SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE.  Because everyone doesn't know Revit quite yet and needs to have as little to see or change when working on stuff such as printing.  It would be nice to just know the red font won't ever print out.  I'm unaware if Revit is capable of this.

Have you looked into DWF review/markups and their integration with Revit?

Yes this does help.  The link you sent me will be a good addition to have and help with our revision process thank you.

Although the issue we have is we want the text to be internal.  So if one person is in their local file and has a question they can quickly jot it down, then continue with what they're doing.  Then the other user in their local file will refresh their file and see the text pop up.  Then they can edit accordingly.  Just curious if it's possible to have this text always set to no plot.  Just like AutoCAD.  I know Ref Planes won't plot, is it possible to put a specific text with a similar property?
