Does anyone know how to get my wall to be cut at the edge of the trim piece on windows and doors? I have a stacked wall and the lower stone covers my trim. Any way of doing this without having to split the wall then aligning the walls to the edge of the trim? That just makes for 3 separate walls and gets annoying. Thanks, Lorne

Hello. Sorry for the late response. Been out of town. Actually I have not thought of the opening cut yet. But if I have a parameter that has Trim set to on/off. Then if I have a window with no trim then how do I make that opening cutback to go to the frame if trim is off?

There is a property of the wall sweeps for the setback at openings, just set it to your typical trim width. Its located in the sweep dialog box within the wall editor.

Yes that will allow my wall sweep to be cut at the edge of the trim. But what about the opening in the stone wall? That also needs to be set back to the edge of the trim.

You could add a formula to your opening size so that it growns if the trim is turned off/on. If you do this I would add a rough width opening with a formula something like this:if(Trim=1,Width+Trim Width,Width). Then you can flex the window width based on the preset width parameter, and the opening size will flex based on if the trim is turned off/on. See the attached file's door families (there are only 2 door families instead of the out of the box 12 that revit comes with). The openings appear and move based on the panel type (1-6). There are probably plenty of ways to slim it down (let me know if you find any) but it works for me; and I can easily change the panel type in the schedule. You should be able to use formulas along these lines to do what you want. HTH Nick

Thanks Nick. But I don't see an attachment. Can you post that door Family? Thanks, Lorne
