I'm and old hand with ADT and now Architecture 2008 and on a steep learning curve with Revit 2008.

I need to draw a wall and lines in Revit 2008 that are slightly at odd angles.  When the adjustment is slight, about 1/2" in 6' for example, Revit won't allow me to drag the end of the wall or line to the underlying Architecture 2008 plan that I imported... I turned off the snaps for angles and distances and that did not change anything.  It looks like anything less than one degree is not possible; it snaps back to the orthographic 90 degree orientation...  This is maddening.  I called my VAR and they were not able to help.  I hope there is some simple procedure to draw at slight angles....

 Any input is greatly appreciated!

Try using the 'Align' command to align the wall to the underlying line. It might also be useful to use a reference plane on the angle you need pin it down and again use the align command to align your wall.

The align command insists on moving the entire wall orthographically so I can move just one end of the wall a small amount.

The reference lines and reference planes follow the same orthographic contraints as the walls, lines etc.  A great idea, but I can make fine adjustment to those either.

My VAR didn't know how to do this either.

I have really hit the wall on this and in a real bind from a time standpoint.... I am really frustrated and perplexed why this is so hard!  It should be easy.

Your assumption is correct, it is easy.

When you draw your wall, use the pick feature with the autocad wall as your reference.

The pick feature is easy.  Easy until I use the cleanup commands and that forces the lines back to the pure ortho alignment.... !

So, the next question is how do I lock the angular constraint before I cleanup the wall intersections?

Then the next leading question beyond that is if I don't have the imported (slighly angled in plan) walls that I am tracing over, how would I create that wall at that slight angle in plan just in Revit?

Thanks fo rthe more detailed assistance; it is greatly appreciated as I am behind the 8 ball with a deadline.  This is very new to me.

The other method without any references (either imported dwg/dxf or user input reference line/plane) would be to draw your wall and give it an angular dimension. Once you've dimensioned it, you can select the wall which highlights the new angular dimension you just set. Select this dimension text (it should be blue) and set it for any angle you wish(mine is set to default to .000) once that is done, you can lock it at that angle. HTH
