hallo.is there any way to hide an ellement when you print?i saw that "temporary hide/isolate ellement" doesnt work.I tried with "visibility/grafics override" but the case is: I want to print section where i have two types of walls, and I want to hide only one of them.I am tired to export to acad in order to control what i print.or maybe i have to delete the item, print to pdf and then undo?it is so sully. The power of bim is getting in my way.sometimes i miss the linework sections I had in adt, but here in revit if I change the section i change the whole model.Could i "detach" a section from the model to work freely on detailng without spoiling the 3d model? Could I hide elements instance by instance whatever obscures what i need?

Sorry i talk so dramaticly before look through the posts.but i have another question to the moderators.I cannot find how to edit or delete our posts.still the question if we can "detach" a section from the model.Put it in the drafting view or smth.By now at any attemt to put smth IN a drafting view, rac2008 refuses.Even a copied linework from an element scetch.

don't know if you still need to know

to hide an element in a view when printing, select the element right click in that menu select 'hide in view', chose element if you want just that instance to hide or category if you want all of the same to hide. hiding elements this way give you more control and allows you to hide one of two section bugs in a plan or elevation, etc.

if you are wanting to hide all just for printing use the VG properties, and make that category not visible

to see items that have been hidden in the view, select the reveal hidden elements icon (the lightbulb) next to the 'temporary hide/isolate' icon. to unhide a hidden object simply select the element while the hidden elements are revealed, right click and select 'unhide in view' and chose either element or category.
