Hello, My apologies if this is a repeating question - I was unable to find a suitable thread or solution. I am very new to Revit, and I am trying to import files created by AutoCAD. Specifically, I am trying to use two types of files, both with DWG extension. One type, seems to be a 2D representation of a 3D object - I am attempting to import it so I can use it as a revit family. The second type, is a complete floorplan designed with AutoCAD. I manage to use the import feature, and bring the DWG into revit, but then I get lost. The imported model is "just sitting there", and I am not sure what I should do in order for it to be usable in Revit. I have the buttons on top saying "Full Explode" "Partial Explode" "Query" etc. Any help or reference to a thread/tutorial would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

you will not be able to endow your Autocad files with Revit functionality. use can you them as reference or details as autocad files. use as underlays to trace over etc.. but they will not function as Revits objects. Imported Autocad walls will not take on Revit walls functions. HTH
