i've been trying but i cant seem to make a staircase like this, can anyone shed any light?

looks like the stair boundary method should work fine

cheers, it was giving my grief but i got there in the end! just as you said, was getting errors with my boundary at first though saying i had 11 risers, when i actually had my 13 and not closing properly) all sorted now! just on to how to do an arched brick profile!
