Revit ARC 2008

My situation:

The whole building floor plan fits on a 30x42 at 3/32" scale.  I want to split the whole into 3 separate larger plans at 1/8" scale.  I made duplicate dependent views and cropped them.  When I change the scale of a dependent view it changes my original 3/32" building floor plan (hence dependent-duh!).  Is there a way to isolate the scale for the single duplicate dependent view?

My next step to solve this issue was to make the dependent views independent, which works, but Revit will not allow me to tag view references if they are independent.  I want to have the 3/32" plan to have view ref tags, but I also want the separate floor plans to have view ref tags as well.  Should I just have three independent enlarged plans and use text to annotate the sheet numbers?  What are your thoughts...anyone?

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan

I think what you are saying is, you're trying to use the primary view as the overall view on the 30x42 sheet.  I always did this by making the overall view and the primary view two seperate entities.  My primary view itself doesn't end up on a sheet only the dependent views that are generated by it.  I'm not saying there isn't a way to isolate the scale of the dependent views, I just don't know of one.

Of course, make a read only copy view and change the scale.  Use the 3/32 for the sheet and the dependent views of the duplicate view with 1/8 scale.  The enlarged views are all 1/8 so the copy overall is changed to 1/8.  Thanks.  If the enlarged plans are different in scale then the best bet is to copy another overall and make dependent views from that copy and change the scale.  I think this just made my day!

Not that you probably care, but watch out for identity theft.  People can get a hold of our numbers.  I believe someone may have one of mine.  They made a $4.95 online purchase to possibly test the water.  I got it refunded, but they may try yet again.  Keep a daily check of your transactions.
