I am a new user to Revit and I have converted our entire office from ADT to Revit. We are moving right along with it as far as the modeling, but have come to somewhat of a halt with the documentation part. What I am wondering is, is there a way the create a family such as an Outlet with GFI for the text, but have the text that it can be rotated or moved? The GFI Outlet that comes with the program has a label with it, but when placed on north side of a wall the text is upside down. We normally like the text to remain horizontal. Any suggestions?

I don't believe you can modify the text in a family once its been loaded in the project at the moment.
It may be an idea to remove the text then create a tag for the category of the element that displays the type name. Then you could modify the tags as you see fit.

Can you not create a family and insert text within family as a parameter and also add a rotation perameter to text where you can input angle once imported ? Have not tried it yet but it can be done for lines etc on door swings.
