can these been hidden when i put my floor plans on a sheet? if i edit them on the Floor Plan it deletes my north etc elevation view

If you are not putting the elevation view on a sheet, you can plot without showing unreferenced view tags. You will still see them in Revit, but they will not plot. If you dont want to see any elevation callouts, you can turn them off in Visibility/Graphics. If you are using 2008, you can select the tag, right click and select "hide element" to hide individual tags.

The show hidden elements button at the bottom of the view window. It's the light bulb next to the scale, detail level etc. buttons. When you click it your hidden elements will show up and you can edit them without unhiding them, or you can unhide them so they will show up.
