Hi everyone -

I'm on Revit Building 2008, and I am trying to build a wall reveal profile that will allow me to dimension to the center of the reveal.  I've tried making the center front/back axis a strong reference, and that hasn't worked.  I added a small traingular piece to the center of the shape, and that worked, but it creates extra lines in the elevations, which is not ok.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Also, does anyone know how to easily override their lineweight in elevations?  Changing the wall projection lineweight also canges the wall's outside edges, which should be darker.  Is the linework tool my only option?  I've been doing it this way for years and am hoping there is a more efficient way....

 Thanks!

-Jen

Put an invisible line in the profile family and you should be able to dimension to that.

Revit reads that as part of the profile, and gives you the "highligted lines are overlapping yada yada yada" error message.  Thanks for the suggestion though - any more?

Your right .... sorry about that.  I've used the invisible line trick in other families but forgot about how profiles work.
