Hi Everyone, I'm interning at an architecture firm near my college and they have recently started an initiative to integrate Revit into their design process. I have been given the task of familiarizing myself with the software and pretty much learning it well enough to supplement the full time architects in the office that are chosen to attend classes. We're using Revit Architecture 2008 and I was wondering if anyone here could direct me to useful resources and tutorials to get me started. I have limited autocad experience as I was hired to do sketchup work. Any material or tips would be greatly appreciated. I mainly interested in a general understanding of the software and the tools available with a focus in building custom families. Also information on grouping, linking, and using repeating unit plans would be great. Thanks a lot, Chris

First I would like to say welcome to the world of Revit. It can be frustrating at times but take it one step at a time. My best suggestion for information would be the tutorials that install with Revit. If you don't have those you may be able to download them from Autodesk.com. You can also post questions to this site and use the vast variety of expertise contained here. Also you can use the Help files. There are some good book out there. Hang in there, and you will be rewarded eventually. Good luck!

Some of the best material I have ever read is the official AutoDesk Lecture Notes- if you go to the Home Page of my site (See below signiture), there is a direct link from there. The document is in PDF and is approx 90 pages long- and it's brilliant. Regards, Ian

Thank you guys for the welcome, yes it tends to be highly frustrating, but it's going well. I am working through the tutorials from Autodesk now. Thanks to Ian for the link to your site, the lecture notes are great and so are your articles on custom components.
