How would I go about adding a 4" circle profile to the railing when I am editing. This would be above the spindles along the length of the rails.?

would your circle be separate from your actual railing?

The circle would be above the spindles inbetween two top rails. Cirlces are 1/2 x 1/2 flat bar rolled round and then welded inbetween the top rails at 5 1/2" centre's

Yes I have. But I dont have the image of the rings to put in. All I have is round or square spindles. Is there an upload of a ring or something I could modify to make the shape. I have limited experience. I have done the railing tutorial in 6.0.

open the profile family of the railing you are modifying. Save as with a different name and then draw your circle where you want it to be relative to the railing. Then import that family into your project. When you go to modify your railing, choose the new profile that you just uploaded

Is there a good tutorial to learn how to draw in familes. Not quite sure how to draw in that format. I did the one tutorial regarding massing in 6.0. Not quite sure how to make a circle after one tutorial

when you open your family, click "lines" and a number of drawing options will pop up directly above the drawing surface. you'll have the option to draw a line, box, cicle, arc, etc...
Revit comes with a lot of good tutorials out of the box. Check the Help section in the program.
