Checkout some of the examples in the family explorer, i'm sure it would be easier to reverse engineer one of those... You could also try the tutorial in the revit help on creating parametric trusses.
If you can't get anything out of that let me know and supply a sketch of exactly what you are trying to create and i'll take you through the steps.

Umm it is extremely simply to create for one instance, but i imagine you won't to make it adjustable for varying widths?
To make it work for one instance, just set the back/front reference plane as the work plane and draw sweeps in elevation. Refer image...
If you want it to be adjustable you will need to use reference planes for the box shape and then curved reference lines for the arcs and radial lines... Then its a matter of setting or locking these elements to the references to get them to adjust.
If you can't manage it and you need it to be adjustable, let me know and i'll make it adjustable if i get a chance. I'm so busy these days...!

Mr. Spot,
This is what i came up with..Its not adjustable but through gods good graces, I managed to get it right the first time...I will also attach an awning that I built..
Thank You for all of your support!!!
you will have to excuse the pixilation...i rendered it as medium for time sake...
Not to shabby for someone who just started revit two weeks ago...
