How do you make a custom annotation family (door, widnow tags etc) auto rotate with the object. I created new door and window tags but they always show up in the same orentation reguardless of the object orentation.

Ok so my custom tags do not read the same type either. If I have a window of the same type useing my custom tag Revit wants to tag them as type 1 and type 2; but if I use the out of the box tag then it labels both of them as type 1.

Any ideas?

Make sure the parameter that is applied to the label in the tag family is a Type parameter. I use the Type Mark parameter to control this. There is another parameter called "Mark" but it is an instance based parameter.

I am not sure about the rotation issue.

Actually I just figured out how to make the tags rotate. You can open the tag family and go to Settings-->Family Category and Parameters--> and checkmark the "Rotate with Component"
