Im having an issue with a new addition onto an existing school. I have a wall on the existing school that is going to receive a new window. Essentially i have a phased project. Existing Phase and New Construction. I have the area demolisehd correcly in the existing plan, and then i've shown the window in the new construction phase, but when i go to my elevations the window outline appears but still has brick infill. Is there anyway to get this to show that it's a new windoe, in a demololished opening, in an existing phase? Or do i need to remodel that wall as new? even though techincally it isnt. I have attached a screen shot. RAC 2008 is the version i'm on. Thanks.

Have you checked the view properties of the elevation view and made sure that the phase filter is set to 'Show previous + new'?

sorry if i'v picked up on this wrong,

but you seem to be placing a new window in to a wall that you have demolished, can't see why you would do this, just as in real life if you demolished a wall then tried to but a window into it it wouldn't work very well.

what i believe what you should do is place the window on the new construction phase and the wall on an existing phase, but not demolish the wall (or at least not the whole wall) then in your elevation view under view properties choose SHOW COMPLETE for your phase filter.
