I don't understand how they are used. Every view (primary or dependent) in my project that I go into, I try to insert one and it won't let me. I go to View>New>View Reference and it is greyed-out. Revit's help page doesn't explain enough.

This is not a new posts and I was wondering if you found out how to use the view reference command?

No, I really haven't looked into them since then. They're a mystery. Let me know if you find something out.
