I created a long dimension string but now I need to move half of the dimensions to a different position (closer to the wall) is there a way to break the dimension string or do i have to re-dimension half of it?

I'm a new useer having a similar problem. I created a long string of dimensions in one command but now need to go back and erase one of them out. However, Revit will not let me "break them apart" so I can erase just one. Any ideas? Thank you!

Unfortunately there is no automatic way to split a dimension string into two... However I find dimensioning in Revit so fast that i wouldn't care and just delete and resketch the dimension strings anyway. That said you could duplicate the dimension string and place in the same place then remove the unwanted witness lines from each string to be left with two split dimensions. However i think the first way would be quicker...
