I am having difficukty building a tilt spot light. I am having trouble constraining tilted geometry. Light won't load into a model. Difficulty is the key word. It is difficult therefore I am doing something wrong. Anyone with experience in making these kind of fittings?

I've tried making a generic model and loading it in. I've tried making a ceiling mounted generic model and loading it in. Nothing tilts???

i'm assuming you are having no problems getting the actual light to tilt, and are having trouble with the geometry that encases the light and getting it to tilt? You need to create the geometry non-vertical in the family and locked to an angled reference plane, then dimension and rotate this reference plane to tilt the geometry. When geometry is created vertical or horizontal, revit automatically constrains it. Try this, it should get past this problem. HTH.

I have tried this and found that I can't costrain the geometry from sliding along the reference plane. I will have another go. It seems to me that if I have to constrain things heavily in revit, especially the lastest version, I am doing something wrong.
