I have created a segmented section cut "dogleg section" and I want to resize it smaller, however when I select the control arrow grip and try to pull it in, it only goes so far.  I can stretch the section mark or section arrow out but not in.  Any ideas would he great.

Thanks

I had this same problem and put in a support request to Autodesk.. I thought it should work the same as it does for grids but I guess a different programmer did section cuts than did the grid bubbles... anyway here was their reply:

"Thank you for contacting Autodesk Support. Here is the recommended resolution to your Support Request:Revit maintains a 1” plotted distance, i.e. 8’-0” at 1/8” = 1’-0” or 4’-0” at ¼” = 1’-0”, between the split and section head or tail. This setting is hard coded and cannot be modified by the user. I’m not sure why this limitation exists and will submit a request to Product Design asking for functionality similar to grids that you have described. In the meantime, one possible workaround is to place a second section just above the first that references the first, turn off the head and tail of the sections and draw a line to connect them."

BUT BE CAREFUL... This workaround worked great until we upgraded to Revit Structure 2008, now we have a new problem with this workaround, you can see the details of that problem here:

You may want to ask support anyway just to let them know I am not the only one that has a problem with the way their split segment works for the detail cuts and suggest that it works like it does for the grid bubbles...

By the way, I dont draw a line connecting the two like they said, I just turn off one tail (which leaves the bubble and a thin line) then I rotate that bubble and the line is now coming off angled. Then I turn off the head on the original cut I made, then move the other head and angled connecting line over to the other tail only. It is a major pain, but at least my detail cuts look like they always have instead of using their goofey split segment and all those 90 degree angles.

HTH, Good Luck,

Jeff

Thanks for the info.

I think I'll stay with my workaround "tell my engineer not to do any segmented sections!!"
