I think it has been a nice discussion but your conclusion my I will regret to. How can my I enjoy itself if it has to live without having controll over things it has to deal with all the time - like having to use a lot of keyboard strokes because of some programmers. Or not being able to Ungroup with a shortcut. My I will not accept: ..sorry that's the way it is.
And I believe most peoples I donīt accept things that are not good. Or their concious I have learnt to accept it but in their uncouncius they still object to it. One solution can be to sit down and meditate so you loose your I... And then stand up to fight the wrong things.
But as you perhaps know man is seven million years old and have lived in small groups consisting of some hundred individuals everyone reacting to the others - smelling them, hearing them, feeling them. 10 000 years ago man learnt to farm and it became possible to build hierarchical systems leaning on taxation. And 400 years ago natural science was born and the tools man got in his hands could be of enormous power - electricity, nuclear power, genetics, nanotechnics and media - there were three buildings going down 911 but only two planes hitting them. Mysterious! And the buildings went down in fine pulverized concrete - and the steel melted - it is the first time buildings go down like this - unless you use termite. And then the ones - senator Dascle and Leahy -. rejecting the new legislation - taking your constitunal rights from you - received letters with anthrax made in USA from Fort Detrick. The conclusions can be drawn of every child - not being blindfolded as grown-ups by medias deceptions and silence.
This is worse than bad Revit programming - this is a nightmare for everyone around our sun-satellite called the earth. And then try to enjoy yourself and not dwell on the little stuff you have no control over.... yes, you are propably right.... or perhaps I have the right philosophy - the pilosophy of saying NO to be able to say YES... to be able to say NES or YO.
So my conclusion is - a new CAD-program you can control like people having done a new 3D-program called Blender that you can find at www.blender.org - those people having made Blender have tried to do something - not just accepting all the bad 3D-programs out there. And we can all enjoy ourselves having controll over the 3D-world a little more. Some day also the CAD-world...you know all this with computers are only about 50 years and man is 7 million years old - so there is much to discuss before the computer programs will suit you and your neigbours... around the globe - our sun-satellite.

Now that is food for thought. There was me thinking it was just a program designed to model and schedule buildings?
It sure has been interesting and funny following this thread. My suggestion: lie back, chill out and buy a mouse!

Sure, you are right but to model and schedule buildings that is done in societies, so your model and schedules will be in most cases what those societies asks for. So if you want to make some nice models and nice schedules for buildings with Revit you got to have a nice society asking you nice questions. But how to get nice societies paying you nicely to make nice things?
Truth will set you free someone has told me. Perhaps it was that guy called J-s or was it that guy called M-d or was it B-a or was it Beatles. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!! For me they are all good guys, but to use their names are curses, better sit down and meditate and find out for yourself...
Finding out something nice - you have to not just lie back, chill out and buy a mouse - I have already both mouse and pen - but they are not working in bed... a touch-pad does and the keyboard does.
So you have to search for the truth, - to get a nice society to do nice architecture in with a nice CAD-program - so here some links to follow for the truth - you decide for yourself - perhaps they are not telling the truth, but who is then telling the truth? about society, about Revit, about chilling out? about architecture for just a building or/and for whole societies?

by the way, I would like to know how you managed to work in bed, I tried to do that in the past but I was never able to get really comfortable, were do you put your laptop? on your legs? doesn't it get very warm?
