Help (I am obviously stupid).

Where are the lintels located in Revit?  I draw extensions for planning permision in the UK so Catnics or similar would be useful.

I typically add them to the window family.

Catnic Lintels are steel, typically 150mm deep or 225mm deep depending on the opening.

At present I draw some of my drawing in revit, then export it to autocad and touch up various components (such as lintels) manually.  I do the same with trusses or rafters and floor joists and all foundation details in my sections.

I am hoping to improve!

In revit you would just make a profile of the angle (steel shape) then load that into your window family and do  a sweep the width of your window + the distance you want it to extend on each side and chose the profile you created. then finish the sketch and make sure the object is on a subcategory for steel and probably set it to only display at fine level of detail.
