I am adding a repeating block detail in a wall section.  I have a couple graphic controls in my family.  One of those controls is the "grouted full" control which is on/off and controls a fill pattern inside the section of the block.  When I use the component by itself, I can edit the properties and see the "grout full" control and it works perfectly.  If I make a repeating detail with the same block component as the "detail", I can't find anywhere to control the components graphic params.  Is there somewhere else I need to look or do I need to create a seperate family without the grout full option?

If the graphic parameters you have defined are instance parameters you will not be able to access them from the repeating detail tool. You could set up the graphic parameters as type parameters and make types with the grout and without. When using the repeating detail you could make a repeating detail for each type. This is basically what you had already figured out but without having to create two seperate detail elements. HTH
