Hi, my office has decided to move from AutoCAD 2008 into Revit in the very near future; we have taken some courses, and are now transferring some drawing standards into Revit so that projects can be begun directly in Revit. I am heading this transfer and am wondering a few things: 1) For electrical symbols in plans, should these be made as Components, all in one family? or Separate components? Am I better off just downloading them from somewhere? 2) How can one add annotation to a plan symbol, like 'Block Attributes' in CAD? We mark our electrical fixtures as E (Existing), N (New), R (Replace), etc. Thanks for any advice you have!

You can do this as an annotation symbol. I think the lettering could be a switchable on/off using a yes/no parameter. You would want one parameter for each letter.
