Every time I try to place a ceiling, I get this message: "None of the created elements are visible in Reflected Ceiling Plan: LOWER LEVEL View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings, as well as any Plan Regions and their settings." I've done a search and read other instances of people having similar problems to me, but none of the solutions in those threads ahve worked. I've adjusted the View Range a number of different ways and nothing has worked. I've tried changing the offset of the ceiling and that didn't work either. The project is a split level building with the upper floor being 5' above the lower floor.

have you tried checking the properties for your ceiling to make sure that it is at the desired level. Your ceiling may actually be below ro above your viewrange.

yes, the ceiling is on the correct level. i've tried setting the offset for the ceiling in reference to the level as well and that hasn't helped.

I'm not sure what it is. If it's on the correct level and at the same height and the view properties are correct then you should be able to see the ceiling when looking at the reflected ceiling plan for that level. My suggestion would be to place the ceiling, then run a quick section through your building and see where the ceiling is being placed. That should help you diagnose the problem.

Look at your view range and your visibility graphics. REMEMBER: This is a REFLECTED ceiling plan. Your cut plan is below your ceiling and you are looking down into a reflection of what is above the cut plane.

stanmpd - When I cut a section to see where the ceiling was placed, I can't find the ceiling at all. I tried to use that trick to at least get the ceiling where it needed to be, but I'm not sure if it isn't creating the ceiling or if there's another setting I'm missing.

After some more huniting, I found the problem. It had to do with Workset visibility. Apparently, since the "ceilings" workset was created after the model was started, Revit decided not to have the visibility turned on for that workset.
