I have created a railing profile using "profile-Rail.rft" and when I load it into the project it is found in the browser but not in the "edit rails" dialouge box. I'm extremely frustrated as I've been trying to get this thing in there for over an hour to no avail. What have I done wrong? Revit Arch 2008

Open the profile family, then under settings>family cat and parameters, check what the profile usage is set to. make sure its rail or generic. If thats not the problem then you may have overlapping lines or lines not connected. try doing a tab select, delete, see if there is any line segments left. if there are then you have overlapping lines.

sdbrown - thank you for your input. Your second suggeston was the trick - I had two lines crossing, once I redrew them and re-loaded it - wala - there were my profiles! Thank you for your help!
