Using Revit Arch 2008 and when I use copy to duplicate a window in a wall, all the copies loose the window tag/annotation.  When I goto properties, I can see they all have a mark value, but nothing shows on the plan.  Any ideas?  Do I need to create each new window from the design bar rather than using copy?

Thanks,

Greg

Select the tag and the window when you copy, or just use the tag tools to tag the copies.

Thanks. *sound of hand smacking head*  I thought the tag was part of the window family.  I guess it's seperate.

Is their a way to auto update all windows in a project. My design has gone through several edsign cycles which has resulted in windows being copied, deleted and added. This has caused an irratic numbering sequence as it has remembered all the windows that have been deleted but not referenced in the window schedule.

So the windows numbers jump e.g. 1 , 2 , 3 , 21 , 54 , 67. 68 .69 etc but obviously I would like it to read 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 etc

So is this easily acheivable without having to manualy update each tag.

Any help or ideas would be helpful

Sorry but there is no easy fix here.  If the numbering of your windows is not based on location in the plan (like a clockwise numbering sequence) then the easiest way to fix this is from your schedule.  Just renumber 1 , 2 , 3 , 21 (4) , 54 (5) ....etc moving your way down the schedule.

NOTE:  If you have multiple windows with the same number, turn off schedule every instance and use the number as your sort.  This will put all windows with the same number on the same line and you change them all at the same time.

Also NOTE:  I always suggest that when doing something like this, you use a "working" copy of your schedule so that any sort parameters that you use do not mess up your sheet placed schedule view.  Just copy your schedule and rename "Working...."

if you have alot to tag, you can use tag all, then select the catagory of the item you want to tag.  if you do it this way you do not have to tag each one individually.
